Congo Mural Class, Day 4

Standard

During the final day of class the ladies prepared for a celebration that was to take place in the afternoon. We laid out our mural nicely in the room where the event would happen and then certain women volunteered from my group to talk about what they learned and also what their hopes were, which they had painted in the mural. Once the celebration began we presented our mural to the rest of the women involved in the arts programs at Panzi Hospital. Afterwards the photography class presented a slideshow and the dance class preformed! We handed out certificates to the women and they seemed so pleased. After the celebration it was my group of women to initiate going to visit one of the ladies in our class who just had a baby! We bought bread and milk to take to her as a gift and I waved goodbye, feeling very happy that these women had such strong relational bonds with one another.
