Painting in the Spring

This is in Malcolm’s backyard. I am going to get rid of the little “tree hallow” that in encircling the top of the white tree.

The neighborhoods in the Belmont area had so many pretty flowering trees and bushes that it was hard to pick which to paint! I like the shadows that streak across this house.

I was trying to mimic Malcolm’s painting strategy in this painting but seem like, from the last picture in this group, that we interpreted color in very different ways. His being more on the purply side and mine going more robins-egg blue.

In this painting I tried to rearrange the different pieces of the painting into a more aesthetically pleasing composition. Yeah, i still have a lot of work to do…
